holiday projects

I heard that apparently the snow is all supposed to melt in a couple days, but I decided it was about time anyways to start working on a quilt for the holidays. I have been sooo excited about this fabric ever since I got it and am finally able to start cutting into it!
To begin I have started cutting my fat quarters into 10" squares (layer cake size) and that's what you see below.

I had a hard time deciding what pattern to use for this fabric. I had one originally picked out which was quite holiday-ish but I just couldn't seem to make it work. I switched to this new one because I think that it showcases the large prints better and you can appreciate the fabric more in it.
I found this quilt pattern on this blog and it has so many great different quilt patterns on it that I know I will be visiting again!

The pattern I will be using
I also picked this pattern because I thought it looked like giant snowballs!

Stay tuned for this work in progress!
